About
Our ambition is to make the yardage book accessible to clubs and players of every level.
An idea born on the course
Yardage was not born in an office. It was born on the course.
Victor discovered golf at seven. Over the years, it became a true discipline: a permanent learning curve built on precision, strategy and high standards.
In early 2019, he passed that passion on to Rodolphe, his cousin. Shared rounds gradually gave way to a deeper involvement, including competing together at a high amateur level.
In 2021, Rodolphe caddied for Victor at a national amateur championship. That experience was a turning point. Preparing the course and watching what players needed, we saw a clear gap: professional yardage books remained hard for amateurs to access.
The observation behind Yardage
In high-level golf, the yardage book is a real working tool. It helps understand the shape of a hole, identify hazards, visualise distances and prepare a suitable strategy.
Outside the professional circuit, however, its use remains very limited.
Our observation is simple:
- the yardage book offer is underdeveloped in France;
- professional materials are rarely accessible to amateur players;
- quality and content vary widely from one club to another;
- there is no shared standard that lets players find a clear, familiar reading on every course;
- many clubs have no support truly adapted to their course and their identity.
The problem was therefore not only the occasional absence of a book. It was a broader lack of structure and consistency.
From one club to another, a player might find a detailed booklet, a summary sheet or, most often, nothing at all. We decided that gap needed filling — for clubs and for their players’ experience.
The idea of Yardage was born from that factual observation.
From observation to first prototype
Ten months after our first observation, we presented our first book at the 2022 Grand Prix of Golf d’Ableiges.
That first operation was the real launch of the project.
The prototype was still relatively simple and did not yet include elevation. Data came from satellite imagery, then was completed and verified on the ground.
This first version let us test the idea against the reality of the course. We could watch how players used the book, identify truly useful information and measure what needed improving through feedback.
The Ableiges prototype was not yet the final product. It was proof that our project met a concrete need.
Four years of development
After that first operation, we began a long process of development, structure and industrialisation.
For four years, we refined our method to move from a prototype built for one competition to a solution that can be deployed consistently across different courses.
Each step helped us improve:
- data collection and processing;
- accuracy of representations;
- overall readability of the books;
- graphic consistency across courses;
- integration of each club’s own identity;
- reproducibility of the production process;
- print quality and product durability;
- lead times and manufacturing costs.
Early surveys combined satellite data with on-course observation. Our process now relies mainly on satellite data, through a method gradually refined and standardised.
That evolution lets us produce more efficiently while keeping a constant standard of care.
After four years of development, Yardage is entering a new phase with its final version — the result of all research, trials and improvements since the first prototype.
A shared standard, an identity unique to each club
We do not want to produce one-off books whose structure and quality change from project to project.
We want to establish a true standard.
Every Yardage book should offer a clear, consistent, immediately understandable reading. A player discovering a new course should find the same landmarks and the same logic of use.
That consistency does not mean every book must look the same.
Every club has its history, architecture, particularities and identity. Our work is to reconcile two requirements:
Build a shared professional structure while respecting the singularity of each course.
The product must be identifiable as a Yardage book — and as the official book of the club it was designed for.
A company built by two
Yardage is a family project that we build together.
We both work across the business: design, product development, commercial strategy, club relationships, production and brand evolution.
That shared involvement lets us keep a coherent vision from the first contact with a club through to book delivery.
Victor has worked in hospitality since 2012. That path gave him a strong culture of service, operational standards and customer satisfaction. In that world, quality is not only the product — it is also consistency, presentation and the overall experience offered.
The same logic guides Yardage: offer clubs a professional, reliable solution that is simple to integrate into how they operate.
Our complementary skills bring together golf knowledge, course experience, commercial development and a constant search for a more effective solution.
Our promise to clubs
A golf course is sporting, landscape and architectural heritage. It deserves a support that presents it accurately and values the work done by the club.
Our promise is clear:
Give every club the means to offer a professional, consistent yardage book in its own image.
For clubs, Yardage should become:
- a tool to showcase the course;
- an extra service for members and visitors;
- a support aligned with their standards;
- a way to strengthen their image;
- a concrete answer to players’ needs in competition and casual rounds alike.
Our goal is to make creating a professional book simpler and more accessible, without imposing complex technical work on the club.
Our promise to players
We want to make course information long associated with professional golf accessible to amateurs.
The book does not replace experience, judgement or execution. It does help the player understand what lies ahead and make decisions with better information.
Our promise to players is therefore:
Make the course information used at the highest level accessible to everyone.
A Yardage book should help you:
- visualise each hole more clearly;
- anticipate the main difficulties;
- prepare a strategy before the round;
- choose a line of play more clearly;
- better understand distances and key areas;
- approach the course with more confidence.
Our ambition is not to tell the player how to play, but to give them what they need to build their own strategy.
A French ambition, open to the world
Yardage is growing today with French golf clubs.
Our method and product are also designed to adapt to other countries. We remain open to projects and proposals from clubs abroad.
In the long run, our goal is to make the yardage book a natural part of what a club offers — not a rare tool reserved for certain events or a minority of players.
Our vision
Yardage rests on a simple belief:
Every course deserves a book equal to its identity. Every player deserves to understand it.
We want to build a brand that is both technical and premium, founded on precision, consistency and quality.
A brand able to establish a shared standard without erasing the personality of clubs.
A brand born from experience on the ground and developed to meet a real need.
From the first observation to the first prototype, then through four years of development, our goal has stayed the same: make the professional yardage book more accessible, more consistent and more useful.
For clubs and for players.
